Rapid Shape and Würth Additive Group go down a joint Path

Agreement signed on partnership in the field of additive manufacturing (AM). Festive meeting at the FORMNEXT trade fair in Frankfurt, Germany.

Frankfurt, 11-18-2021 – Rapid Shape, German manufacturer of 3D-printers, was able to win Würth as a partner for the distribution of its innovative products in the USA and Canada. This agreement will give access to high-quality 3D-printers manufactured by Rapid Shape.

“The extensive expertise in additives as well as in B2B sales of the Würth Additive Group is a tremendous asset for Rapid Shape and for the entire global market. We are very excited about the new partnership and the associated opportunity to make our products available to the North American market,” says Andreas Schultheiss, Chief Executive Officer of Rapid Shape GmbH, Germany.

“We were looking to expand our industrial AM portfolio with a Digital Light Processing (DLP) projection technology. We wanted to partner with a manufacturer that understands 3D-printing as a workflow, implements it sustainably and industrially. With Rapid Shape, we were able to win over the market leader in hearing acoustics AM production and a top player in the dental industry. In addition to the extensive automation, Rapid Shape’s unique feature is the patented force feedback technology, which accelerates the layer-by-layer printing process in a controlled manner and simultaneously offers in-situ process monitoring. With Rapid Shape, we have found what we were looking for,” says AJ Strandquist, Chief Executive Officer of Würth Additive Group USA. “The Rapid Shape portfolio, from small desktop printers to fully automated large inline production systems, gives us the ability to offer solutions for prototyping and research all the way to true automated volume production. All completely expandable. This is exactly what our customers are looking for,” adds Ben Cybulski, Director of Sales.

The agreement between Rapid Shape and the Würth Additive Group will go beyond a usual sales partnership: Würth is thinking about offering a very special edition of Rapid Shape 3D-printers. With this edition we can offer a very high quality and completely new possibilities in the field of industrial additive manufacturing,” says AJ Strandquist. Würth will also present and demonstrate the entire 3D-printer portfolio in its showroom in Indianapolis. In order to serve the market quickly and reliably, the 3D-printers will be in stock on site. Of course, Rapid Shape engineers will be on hand to support, train and advise customers on their applications.
